Important Information:

  • Our school day is from 8:00 am – 2:30 pm.

  • The official tardy bell is at 8:30 am.  If your child is not in their classroom by the 8:30 bell, he/she is considered tardy to school.

    • Please be aware of House Bill 410 which explains the attendance law - tardies and early pickups, excused or unexcused, will count against your attendance.

  • Breakfast is served from 8:00-8:20 am.

    • Breakfast and lunch are available to all students at no cost.  If students want breakfast, they will enter door 9. If they are dropped off after 8:15, they will enter door 1 (main door).

  • Students are not permitted to enter the building until 8:00 am.

    • Please do not drop off your child/ren earlier than 7:45 am. There will not be any supervision before 7:45 am outside and students will not be permitted to enter the building early regardless of the weather conditions.

    • Please do not park in the bus lanes to wait for the doors to open as that needs to stay clear for our buses.

  • It is important that any adult signing out a child during the school day shows a valid ID. This will be asked each time you come into the building to sign your child out.

  • For each child’s safety, no child may be signed out without the permission of the legal parent or guardian even if that person is listed as an emergency contact.

Dress Code:

  • School uniforms are not required for the 2023-2024 school year.  Please keep apparel school appropriate.

Dismissal:

  • Dismissal procedure will remain the same as in previous years. You will line up on Nestor Avenue and be guided starting at 2:30pm into the parking lot to pick up your child.

  • Parents - please do not block driveways as you wait in the pick up line.  Also, do not park on the grass of private property to wait for your child or to avoid the pick up line.  Pull into the parking lot if you need to do so or your car can be towed per city ordinance.

  • Please be sure your name placard is visible so students can be called to the main doors as you pull up. If you need a name placard or one replaced - please call the school so we can make a new one for you.

Emergency Card Update:

  • You should receive an email as to updating all student information for the new school year in the Home Access Center. If you have questions about this, you can contact the school or the Engagement Center (330) 761-2810.

School Events & Communication:

We invite you to call or email your child’s teacher with any possible questions or concerns. We believe in open two-way communication to ensure success for your child.

  • Class Dojo will be used to communicate upcoming events with families by the principal as well as your child’s teacher.

    • Please download the app so you are able to communicate daily with your child’s teacher as well as the school counselor or administrators.

  • Report Cards and Interim Reports will no longer be mailed.

    • You will have access to review your child’s progress immediately in the Home Access Center (HAC). This will also provide you the opportunity to keep track of your child’s progress throughout the school year as you will be able to see their grades in HAC throughout the year, not just at interims and report cards.

You may contact the school office by phone from the hours of 7:30am-4:30pm.

We look forward to working with your child and family.  We are your partners in your child’s education. Please don’t hesitate to call or email if you need anything!

Sincerely,

Ms. Jennifer Sibit
