PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Happy February Sam Salem Eagle Families!

Well - Punxsutawney Phil did NOT see his shadow today which means an early spring for us! I’m looking forward to the warmer weather!

Our Soaring Eagle theme for the month of February is honesty. Take a few moments to talk about the importance of honesty and being honest to others.

As we continue our 2nd semester - the 2nd half of the game - it is important for your child to get to school on time and ready to learn. Starting this month, we have our annual Battle of the Classes iReady challenge where classes compete to see who can have the most lessons done overall in a week. Students get very excited for this and love the competition! If you have questions about how your child is doing with iReady, please reach out - we are happy to look at how things are going. We also have a special monthly event coming up in March where attendance counts in order to be included! More to come on that later.

All of our teachers and staff are committed to providing students with an appropriate and challenging educational experience in a respectful environment that fosters learning and growth.

If you have questions, please call the school @ (330) 761-3222 or send me a message in Class Dojo anytime.

HB410 is the Attendance Law and counts every minute! Minutes count being tardy to signing out early.

It is Ohio Law.

Attendance Matters - Know your Zone!

Attendance plans and truancy letters generate from the state and you will be contacted to start an attendance plan when you reach different levels of absenteeism based on HB410.

PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

As we come back together, I hope you all had an amazing break with your family. We are looking forward to having our school family back on Monday, January 8th.

Our Soaring Eagle theme for the month of January is perseverance. Take a few moments to talk about how to persevere through tough situations with your child at home. Talking about different situations such as waking up early after getting to sleep in, working hard through the learning process and staying true to who you are no matter what barriers may show up, will help your child’s social and emotional development in life.

As we return for our 2nd semester - the 2nd half of the game - it is important for your child to persevere by staying in the game, be on time each day and be ready to learn. Chromebooks need to be charged and ready to rock iReady lessons as we will be having a classroom challenge starting soon!

All of our teachers and staff are committed to providing students with an appropriate and challenging educational experience in a respectful environment that fosters learning and growth.

If you have questions, please call the school @ (330) 761-3222 or send me a message in Class Dojo anytime.

PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

As we get into winter weather now, please be sure your scholars are dressed warm. If you need winter coats, hats, gloves, please reach out - we are family and family takes care of each other! We can connect you to resources and help you with your needs.

Thank you for keeping the bus lane clear during drop off! It helps get our buses in and out when that area is empty for when they arrive. Please also be aware of pulling into the driveway when you come to pick up your children. Our Safety Patrol work hard to keep kids safe as does our Safety Team who directs the traffic. If someone else is picking up your child, please let them know how our dismissal runs.

Our PTA will officially start up after Winter Break. Look for emails from Mrs. Porter. Thank you to all of you who filled out the survey to be a part of the PTA at our school.

Our Soaring Eagle December theme is empathy - take a few moments to talk about empathy with your child at home. Talking about how we can show empathy to others will support their journey at school in being leaders.

On behalf of all of us to all of you, we want to wish you all a very

Happy Holiday

and Happy New Year!

If you have questions, please call the school @ (330) 761-3222 or send me a message in Class Dojo anytime.
