Sandie Van Auker Retires Sam Salem after 22 years.
Sandie retired after teaching for 38 years. Twelve of the those years in San Diego and twenty six in APS. The majority of her career has been Title 1 and all of her Title 1 has been at Sam Salem.
She is originally from San Diego, California. Her husband Dave who is originally from Akron, met Sandie in San Diego and brought her to Akron where they married and have lived every since 1991.
When asked "What she will be looking forward to in the next weeks and months? "
She replied, "Her travels to the Finger Lakes, Italy, working out routine, volunteering at One of Kind Pets, and Akron Children's Hospital."
Her favorite memory is all the support she received this past year and will never forget her friends of her staff family at Sam Salem.
We will miss her laugh and warm smile. She touched so many hearts of students and staff at Sam Salem.
