Society will be partnering with the Akron Zoo for the last hike up to the John Brown Monument on Saturday, September 5th at 10 a.m.
Dave Lieberth, Society board director, will be giving a talk about Summit County’s most consequential resident, John Brown, to start the hike. Doug Piekarz, Akron Zoo president & CEO, and Leianne Neff Heppner, Society president & CEO, will journey to the monument with attendees.
This event is free and open to the public. The terrain is uneven and at an incline. Guests are encouraged to wear appropriate footwear and dress for the weather.
Come to the Akron Zoo main entrance and then turn left into the parking lot following signage to the back of the lot where the tour will start. Rain or shine.
